So, I’ve mentioned that we arrived safely at our new destination in Northern California, but I haven’t given you many other details. It’s been a tad bit….busy….to say the least! I think this silly little video I made (below) pretty much sums up the experience of prepping for a move, supervising the packing and loading, and getting three kids through all of the end-of-school-year activities.
Did I ever mention that I did all this while my husband was already living across the country–three time zones away? Of course I didn’t mention it! I was paranoid that some crazy person would find out and come steal my fabric stash or try to play on our playscape in the middle of the night. And that crazy person wouldn’t know about my ferocious beast of a dog, and I’d be sued for damages, right? So, yes, all by myself with three children and a house to pack and a huge yard to take care of and a bunch of freelance work to do before we moved, I did go a little crazy. And here is the video evidence, just click the link:
That was filmed during one of the more touristy stops we made while driving across the country, as we joined Bionic Man’s parents and siblings for a quick reunion at Arches National Park. (I’m on my way to Delicate Arch in that video.) Did you catch my embarrassed 13 year old saying “Cut it out, Mom!” She just doesn’t appreciate my flair for the dramatic. Oh, and you just met my talented sis-in-law and her camera.
Now, I really will be trying to post a few things about what has happened since the move. We’re slowly getting unpacked and settled in our rental home, and we’re looking at homes for sale in our area. But the bulk of our time? It’s spent enjoying the gorgeous weather and incredible recreation opportunities that surround our new hometown. The pre-move craziness? Totally worth it.
And would you believe, since we’ve moved, I’ve started biking? More on that later.

Glad all is well- good to focus on the exciting things. we’re gearing up for a move— skipped over the excited stage and went straight to the terrified stage. gah!
